MANY BANDS WILL ENTER, BUT ONLY ONE WILL BE CHOSEN AS THE WINNER
The Battle of the Bands is back and better than ever. For the third year running, New York bands will have the opportunity to bring the house down at the 2,100-seat Colden Auditorium at Queens College’s Kupferberg Center for the Arts. Queens Library seeks to foster the musical talents of emerging bands in Queens and New York City.
Queens has produced countless chart-toppers, from Louis Armstrong to Cyndi Lauper to Nicki Minaj. Feel the heat and witness the performances of the next future musical stars. We have a great lineup so let’s rock!

2016 Winners: Chiv Culture
Our grand prize winners were Chiv Culture, whose “head-nod” jazz and hip hop rhymes made the audience clap in unison to songs like “Epiphany” and their hit “Cupid.”
“Good deeds, good vibes, good music. We represent chivalry culture,” said Chiv Culture’s lead vocalist, Akinyemi.
Band members include Akinyemi, Brian Marshall, Markis Williams, Kennedy Frederick, and Lucas Kadish.
