Created to honor the late Marvin Hamlisch and pay tribute to his remarkable legacy as both an artist and advocate for developing talent, The Marvin Hamlisch International Music Awards discover and champion young, emerging composers from around the world.

In 2013, the DC-based nonprofit CINE first presented the awards as the Marvin Hamlisch Film Scoring Contest. Hundreds of musicians worldwide have since competed annually in this unique contest for emerging media composers.

The newly named Marvin Hamlisch International Music Awards will be presented annually in New York City, beginning with the inaugural ceremony taking place here at Queens College.

The evening will feature an all-star cast of presenters and speakers, including: Robert Klein, Marissa McGowan, Paul Shaffer, Martha Stewart, and Joe Torre.
