The Queens College Opera Studio will present a fully staged production of L’Incoronazione di Poppea, Monteverdi’s 17th century masterpiece of political and sexual intrigue. Emperor Nero can’t get his mind off the beautiful and sensual Poppea. He thinks about Poppea more than he thinks about his country and especially his empress Ottavia.

Singers from the Queens College Opera Studio will be accompanied by an ensemble of authentic period instruments, comprised of student, faculty, and guest players.
