The Queens College Choral Society (QCCS) from its founding in 1941 has offered students and faculty of Queens College and members of the New York Metropolitan area the opportunity to learn and perform choral masterpieces from all musical eras in a concert hall setting. The Society meets for rehearsals at Queens College on Wednesday evenings during the academic year and presents two main performances, in May and December.

The Society welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds to share the joys of choral singing in a friendly atmosphere.  We expect commitment in attendance and disciplined effort at rehearsal and at home toward learning the music.  The Queens College Choral Society is committed to cultivating the musical skills of its members.  We strive for artistic excellence and we are dedicated to enhancing the appreciation of choral music in our community.

A Season of Unity
James John, Music Director

Mozart’s Requiem is a timeless classic. 1001 Voices (music by Frank London, libretto by Judith Sloan and visuals by Warren Lehrer), reflects ideas of transformation, migration and finding home while celebrating the diversity of the borough of Queens. Britten’s War Requiem is a reflection and warning on the senselessness of war.  Together these three works emphasize a theme of unity, and focus on bringing people together through music.
