Department of Drama, Theatre & Dance Presents: DREAM A LITTLE DREAM (live screening)
February 16, at 6:00 pm$5
stepping, standing and swinging with Lucille and Louis Armstrong
Dream A Little Dream is a lusciously surreal dance and music film that swirls through the garden and exquisitely decorated rooms of the historic Louis Armstrong House Museum in Corona, Queens, New York.
The film features signature jazz tunes made famous by Louis Armstrong and performed by the Queens College Jazz Repertoire Ensemble under the direction of Antonio Hart; and original choreography by Yin Mei Critchell, nia love, and Edisa Weeks performed by Queens College Dance Program students.
The dancers and musicians move through various rooms in the Armstrong’s house that were uniquely decorated by Armstrong’s wife Lucille in collaboration with interior decorator Morris Grossberg. If you love dance, jazz music, and architecture – Dream A Little Dream is definitely for you!
