Darlene Love

Rolling Stone has proclaimed Darlene Love “one of the greatest singers of all time”—and that certainly rings true. Or, as Paul Shaffer puts it more concisely: “Darlene Love is Rock ’n’ Roll!” That sentiment was made official in 2011, when she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Bette Midler, a devoted admirer. During the ceremony, the two performed “He’s A Rebel,” and Love was later joined by Bruce Springsteen for “He’s A Fine, Fine Boy.”

At the Academy Awards, Love delivered a powerful acceptance speech on behalf of the performers in the Oscar-winning documentary Twenty Feet From Stardom. As she raised the Oscar, the entire house rose in a cheering ovation—led by an exuberant Bill Murray. A Grammy Award for the film’s soundtrack soon followed.

Her Billboard hits include “He’s A Rebel,” “The Boy I’m Gonna Marry,” “Wait ’Til My Bobby Gets Home,” and “He’s Sure the Boy I Love,” along with the #1 holiday classic “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” For nearly 30 years, she performed the song annually on The Late Show with David Letterman with Paul Shaffer and the CBS Symphony Orchestra.

Continuing that cherished tradition, Love brings the spirit of the season to audiences each year with her special Christmas performances. With her warm, gracious stage presence and unmistakable voice, she continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
