CuBop to Hip-Hop

This Interactive concert explores the history of how Afro-Cuban music was born out of the New York City melting pot during the 1950s and 60s, leading to the birth of funk and hip-hop through the lens of Latin music icons Tito Puente, Dizzy Gillespie, Hector Lavoe and more. CuBop to Hip-Hop will feature Salcedo’s Latin Soul, a high energy collective that includes multiple horns, percussionists and vocalists led by Steven Salcedo.

Power of the PIT

Broadway is known around the world as the heartbeat of New York City. What people don’t know is that the heartbeat of Broadway comes from underneath the stage, in the pit orchestra! In Power of the Pit, we will deconstruct how music is made in Musical Theatre. Featuring Broadway Actors Mateo Lizcano and Ciara Alyse Harris, and an all-star band of Broadway musicians that have played in over 50 Broadway shows including Hamilton, Wicked, and Dear Evan Hansen.
