The American Symphony Orchestra presents a memorial concert surrounding the 25th anniversary of September 11th. While serving as an occasion for remembrance and reflection, the program also celebrates the enduring strength of the human spirit. The majesty of Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, the anguished beauty of Gustav Mahler’s Adagio from the composer’s tenth symphony, the poignancy of George Walker’s Lyric for Strings, and additional scores, together pay tribute to the resilience, dignity, and contributions of ordinary Americans, as well as the courage and sacrifice of the heroes of 9/11.
Admission is free-of-charge, and no RSVP is required. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis. Free admission tickets (1 ticket per person) will be distributed beginning one hour before the performance at the LeFrak Concert Hall Box Office.
