"Country Gongbang demonstrates that the basics of bluegrass aren’t limited exclusively to the realms of the western world.”
Bluegrass Today

Fusing the soul of bluegrass with the spirit of K-pop, Country Gongbang brings a fresh, global twist to the stage. Founded in 2014 as South Korea’s first bluegrass band—and the first Korean group to perform at the legendary Grand Ole Opry in Nashville—Country Gongbang is redefining tradition with bold, bilingual vocals and a vibrant, genre-blending sound.

In 2023, the group received the prestigious International Band Performance Grant from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), recognizing their groundbreaking artistry. This honor led to their historic 2024 U.S. tour, with performances at renowned venues and festivals, including their landmark debut at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville—the first-ever Korean band to take its iconic stage.

“Their Korean-influenced repertoire epitomizes the talent, passion, and creativity growing in bluegrass music around the world!” (Paul Schiminger, IBMA’s former Executive Director)

The band features Yebin Kim on mandolin and lead vocals, Hyunho Jang on banjo, Jongsu Yoon on fiddle, Sunjae Won on guitar, and Keeha Song on bass. Discover the vibrant fusion of tradition and innovation with Country Gongbang—where bluegrass transcends borders and embraces bold new horizons.
