Kupferberg Center for the Arts offers three dynamic performance venues for audiences of 450 – 2,000.  Located on a prominent corner of the Queens College campus, each venue offers a public entry point and is conveniently located off of the Long Island Expressway (LIE), serving audiences from Long Island and throughout New York City’s five boroughs. Campus parking is available, and New York City’s efficient public transportation system provides five bus lines (Q17, Q25, Q35, Q64 Q88) and quick access to numerous subway stations.

COLDEN AUDITORIUM

The largest indoor venue in Queens! This 2,083 seat performing arts venue recently reopened after an extensive HVAC upgrade. The perfect venue for international touring artists, stand-up, dance, large choral works, graduations, seminars, community events, and religious services.    

Featured highlights:

  • Proscenium stage (37′ x 76′) with permanent concert shell and backstage crossover.
  • 13′ high x 10′ wide loading dock (and parking) 100’ from stage, right at stage level. 
  • Hydraulic orchestra pit with basement entry.
  • JBL live entertainment audio system, delivering an exceptional sound experience for audio professionals and audience members.
  • State of the art ETC/EOC events lighting technology with a wide range of output options for your lighting designer or ours.
  • Four dressing rooms on three levels, accommodating 26 persons.

LEFRAK CONCERT HALL

The 489-seat LeFrak Concert Hall with superior acoustics, is considered one of the of the finest concert halls in the New York metropolitan area. Diverse musical genres performed on this stage include: gamelan, folk, bluegrass, opera, classical, and jazz. A perfect concert hall for bands and orchestras, choral works as well as music recitals, benefit concerts, graduations, seminars, and religious services.

Featured highlights:

  • Superb tracker-action organ, designed by Bedient Associates expressly for this concert hall.
  • 24 banner boxes, which can be lowered to accommodate variable acoustics.
  • Projector and screen.
  • Computer-controlled theatrical lighting.

GOLDSTEIN THEATRE

The primary venue of the Queens College Drama, Theatre & Dance Department, Goldstein Theatre is a 450-seat proscenium theatre with a 40-foot-wide by 18-foot-high proscenium arch. Kupferberg Center for the Arts is pleased to offer this theatre rental on a limited basis for small theatre and opera performances, stand-up comedy, as well as seminars.

Featured highlights:

  • Equipped with an automated orchestra pit which can be lowered to 7’6″ below stage height.
  • Fully computerized lighting system.
  • Fly system with up to 44 line sets plus side tab pipes on both sides of the stage. 
  • Dedicated lighting designer.
