“It would be hard to imagine a better group of artists to bring to life the golden age of Cuban music.” (Miami Herald)

Renowned Cuban trombonist, composer, and musical director Jesus “Aguaje” Ramos has been at the heart of Afro-Cuban music for decades. Best known as the original orchestra leader and trombonist of The Buena Vista Social Club, Ramos has played a pivotal role in shaping the global legacy of Cuban music. His career spans legendary ensembles like Estrellas de Areito and Afro-Cuban All Stars, and his contributions were immortalized in the Academy Award-nominated Buena Vista Social Club documentary.

Having performed on the iconic Buena Vista Social Club and Afro-Cuban All Stars recordings, as well as albums by Ibrahim Ferrer, Rubén González, and Omara Portuondo, Ramos has been a driving force in bringing traditional Cuban music to audiences worldwide. As musical director of Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club, he led the celebrated AdiosTour (2014–2016), rekindling the group’s legacy on an international scale.

Now, in 2025, The Buena Vista Orchestra, under Ramos’s direction, continues this rich tradition. Joined by original BVSC members Luis “Betún” Mariano Valiente Marin (Congas, Bongo) and Fabian Garcia (Bass) alongside an all-star ensemble, the group will embark on an expansive international tour across Canada, the UK, the EU, Brazil, and beyond. Their repertoire, featuring timeless classics and deep cuts, captures the soulful essence of Cuban music that has enchanted generations.

With over 50 million albums sold, The Buena Vista Social Club remains the best-selling Cuban music project in history—often called “world music’s Dark Side of the Moon.” Now, experience the next chapter of this legendary sound as Ramos and The Buena Vista Orchestra bring the rhythms of Havana to the world stage once more.
