Join us for a historic night as the Louis Armstrong House Orchestra makes its KCA debut! Featuring an all-star lineup of musicians and led by electrifying trumpeter and composer Alphonso Horne, this world-class big band performs new arrangements and rare compositions from the storied archives of the Armstrong canon, honoring Armstrong’s invaluable legacy of musical innovation and social impact.
This special concert celebrates the 50th anniversary of the album Louis Armstrong and Friends, bringing Oliver Nelson’s original arrangements to the stage for the first time, alongside exciting world premieres. It’s a powerful tribute to Armstrong’s enduring influence and groundbreaking spirit, with special guests joining the celebration.
