“Music was my life from the day I was born” – Alexander Kouguell

Please join us for a concert and celebration of the life and legacy of Prof. Alexander Kouguell. Prof. Kouguell was a cellist of great renown, and was named Prof. of Cello at Queens College in 1949. He remained on the faculty until 2017, at the age of 97! He passed away in 2023, shortly before his 103rd Birthday.

Prof. Kouguell and his wife Florence established a scholarship in their memory to support cellists in the music program of his beloved Aaron Copland School of Music.
