The Department of Drama, Theatre and Dance Present The Congresswomen

February 28 - March 10

$11 – $18

In a presidential campaign office in the near future, the Women+‘s party anxiously awaits the election results that may lead to America’s first female-identifying president. As disagreements erupt over the feasibility of radical ideals, a mysterious attack sends the party members on a fantastical journey through Aristophanes’ Athens to find the key to preventing a real-life tragedy. This tragicomic remix of “The Congresswomen,” which includes contemporary language, verse, and original songs (including original music by Tony Award-winner Stew), is an exploration of what it takes for women to wield power, and whether utopias can exist in the real world.
